This project looks at exploring ideas of transition in discrete parts from solids to lines and in materials from opaque to transparent.
Opaque and translucent filaments were used for the solids and lines respectively with 3d printed intersecting joints. Clear surfaces were molded to recreate the character of our transparent surfaces.
The completed model was then overlaid and incorporated into a painting to explore how it could function as a form. We exploited the petal nature of the surfaces and the grip of the solid to replace Bacchus’s wine glass with a flower like form.
The object created after kitbashing was subjected to a series of transformations and modifications by experimenting with different means of modeling, representation, fabrication, animation, virtual reality and augmentation.
